Support the Millheim Pool at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park
Merry Millheim and its many events are working this year to benefit the Millheim Pool at Soldier’s and Sailor’s Memorial Park. Built by volunteers in 1970, the Millheim Pool at Soldier’s and Sailor’s Memorial Park has offered summer programs including swimming lessons, dinner and movie nights, sand volleyball, the Millheim Pool Sprint Triathalon and more. The five-acre park, which contains a public pool, pavilions, playground equipment, and a basketball court, is owned by the Millheim Lions Club and maintained by the volunteer Penns Valley Park and Recreation Association (PVPRA). The PVPRA is always looking for new members with ideas and energy to help keep the Millheim Pool an active part of this community.
This year at Merry Millheim, any local business members will be donating a percentage of the weekend’s proceeds to the pool. The Millheim Small Engine will be raffling off a Husquervana 125b Leaf Blower on Saturday.
At noon on Saturday, dress up in your holiday garb for the first ever Merry Millheim Mile Fun Run & Walk. Registration for the Merry Millheim Mile begins at 11am at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park, and the run/walk begins at noon. Prizes will be given for best apparel, best carol singing, and more, and all proceeds will go to the pool!
